• Butterfly Pre-Kindergarten Goals

We are working with all of our children to get them ready for Kindergarten. The following social and emotional goals are key in making sure your child will successfully be able to transition into their Kindergarten classroom:

-Knows and follows classroom rules and routine.

-Able to stand and walk in line without losing their place or touching other people or items around them.

-Know self-help routines (ie. Going potty includes: turning on the light, going potty, wiping, putting seat up/down if needed, flush, turn off light, wash hands with soap and water, dry hands and throw towel in the garbage. All without prompt.).

-Cleans up after self when finished with an activity.

-Able to regulate emotions when feeling angry, sad, or excited, etc. Knows how to communicate these feelings.

    -Follows multiple step directions.

-Follows verbal instructions with one prompt.

-Has impulse control and chooses appropriate behavior most of the time.

-Able to wait for their turn.

-Is aware of how their own actions affect others, sometimes needing assistance in this area.

-Adapts to new environments, children and adults.

-Is able to problem solve with little assistance.
